Education Assistant (Immediate start)

Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Special Educational Assistant for elementary classroom starting immediately.

Based in the heart of Sea to Sky Country, SWS offers an inclusive, values-based community and the opportunity to help nurture students in a premier pre-K to Grade 8 Waldorf School where student experience is at the centre of our holistic education.

Candidates must enjoy working with children and be a flexible team player who is adaptable, creative, and nurturing. Preferred candidates will have relevant education/training/work experience supporting children with high needs and/or special needs. Duties include supporting students with diverse needs in the grades classroom setting, working one-on-one with students or in small groups.

Kindergarten Assistant (Fall 2024)

The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a kindergarten assistant teacher who is interested in working with Waldorf teaching methods starting September 2024 for the school year.  The school offers a strong community spirit and the opportunity to help us build a thriving and healthy school where your input, enthusiasm, and talents will be welcomed and appreciated.   

The kindergarten class size is between 16 to 20 children. The job will entail supporting the current kindergarten lead teacher 5 days per week (Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm; Friday, 8 am – 4 pm).

The kindergarten assistant is competitively compensated including tuition benefits for their children. Candidates must have some knowledge of Waldorf education pedagogy. We are looking for a person who has strong interpersonal skills with children and adults as well as patience, flexibility, and commitment. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work well within a team.

Elementary/Grades Class Teacher (Fall 2024) 

Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Elementary Grades teacher for the 2024-25 school year, starting September 2024.

Based in the heart of Sea to Sky Country, SWS offers an inclusive, values-based community and the opportunity to help nurture students in a premier pre-K to Grade 8 Waldorf School where student experience is at the centre of our holistic education.

Candidates must be organized, flexible, creative, and interested in Waldorf philosophy and pedagogy. Duties include lesson planning, delivering BC curriculum and Waldorf curriculum in a Waldorf School setting, student assessment and reporting, effective classroom management, meeting with parents and participating in the festival and collegial life of the school.

Professional requirements include a valid BC teaching certificate and a minimum two years classroom teaching experience. Preferred candidates will have Waldorf teaching experience, certification, and/or training.

Elementary School French Teacher (Temporary, part-time; Fall 2024)

The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a part-time French teacher for our elementary grades program. The position is for the 2024-2025 academic year, starting September 2024. 

 Classes of 45-minute sessions are taught twice per week per grade (6 hours per week). The position is competitively compensated.

 The ideal candidate has French subject teaching experience and a BC teaching certificate. The candidate should also be experienced with/interested in Waldorf Education.
