Join us for a FREE 3-part Neufeld parenting workshop: Making Sense of Discipline
October 1, 8 & 15 | 6:30-9pm presented by Squamish Waldorf School
Led by Nina Fields, a graduate of the Facilitator Training Program at the Neufeld Institute, parents will learn discipline strategies that are attachment-safe and developmentally friendly for children of all ages. Nina has a BA in Psychology and is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor.
Session One, Oct. 1 – Why are some children naturally well-behaved? Surprisingly, the keys to consistently good behaviour lie not in learning or discipline but in right relationships and in healthy brain functioning.
Session Two, Oct. 8 – Discipline: a critique of current discipline practices This session looks at the most common methods used today and explores their impact on the six traits that underlie good behaviour. Guidelines are given for when consequences are appropriate and when they are likely to backfire.
Session Three, Oct. 15 – Discipline that doesn’t divide This session offers effective strategies for handling incidents as well as for addressing the deeper roots of problem behaviour. In addition, discipline methods are provided that double as powerful primers of maturation.
Space is limited, please register in advance.
