Administrative Coordinator
The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking an organized, compassionate, and creative individual who enjoys working in a school setting. The candidate must have an understanding of or interest in Waldorf Education.
Position Summary
The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical services that facilitate the smooth functioning of the school. Key responsibilities include covering the front office, enrollment/student records, school communications, and community relations. This position is the first point of contact for inquiries about the Squamish Waldorf School and requires a professional work ethic and manner, requiring a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Reception, including telephone, email, and walk-in enquiries from existing and prospective parents, community members, vendors and visitors.
- Receive and respond to school emails and manage the school email distribution system
- Maintain paper-based and digital school files, student records, and other confidential files, according to the Ministry of Education standards
- Create, update and maintain school databases, spreadsheets, contact lists
- Submit reports to the Ministry of Education as required
- Manage, organize, research and assist with various projects as needed
- Field parent, faculty, staff and student questions and assist with administrative tasks
- Support the growth of our programs (e.g. marketing, supporting new coworkers, community events, etc.)
- Administer ‘light’ first aid as needed: band-aids, headaches, stomach aches, splinters
- Conduct and record safety drills
Candidate must be highly organized, diligent, and detail-oriented, possess great attention to detail and maintain accurate records, and be flexible and adaptable.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
LOCATION: Onsite at Squamish Waldorf School.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduation, plus a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary or formal certificate/diploma program equivalent, with courses in-office procedures, word processing, spreadsheet, database, web updating and desktop publishing applications
- 4+ years of related experience
- Previous experience in a school setting is an asset

Pay ranges from $45,000-$60,000 with 6 weeks holiday.
