Full-Time Education Assistant
Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Special Educational Assistant for the school year 2026/27, starting August 31 to June 18, and possibly continued employment for years to come.
Based in the heart of Sea to Sky Country, SWS offers an inclusive, values-based community and the opportunity to help nurture students in a premier pre-K to Grade 8 Waldorf School where student experience is at the centre of our holistic education.
Candidates must enjoy working with children and be flexible team players who are adaptable, creative, and nurturing. Preferred candidates will have relevant education/training/work experience supporting children with high needs and/or special needs. Duties include supporting students with diverse needs in the classroom setting and one-on-one, as needed.

Elementary/Grades Class Teacher 2026-27 (Full-time, FTE 1.0)
Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Elementary Grades teacher for the 2026-27 school year, starting August 31, 2026.

Candidates must be organized, flexible, creative, and interested in Waldorf philosophy and pedagogy. Duties include lesson planning, delivering BC curriculum and Waldorf curriculum in a Waldorf School setting, student assessment and reporting, effective classroom management, meeting with parents and participating in the festival and collegial life of the school.
Professional requirements include a valid BC teaching certificate and a minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience. Preferred candidates will have Waldorf teaching experience, certification, and/or training.

The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a part-time French teacher for our elementary grades program (grades 1-8). The position is for the 2026-27 academic year, starting September 2026.
Classes of 45-minute sessions are taught twice per week per grade (8 hours per week). The position is competitively compensated.

Full-Time Preschool Teacher
The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood Educator for our preschool program. The position is for the 2026-27 academic year, starting in August 2026. The work must be completed on-site. There is no option to work remotely.
Tasks/Responsibilities
Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Storytelling
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Knowledge of licensing regulations
Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
The ideal candidate has an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, their First Aid Certificate, and at least 2-3 years of experience working in childcare. The candidate should also be experienced with/interested in Waldorf Education. The ideal candidate has handwork subject teaching experience (including sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching) and a BC teaching certificate.
