Field trips are an important extension of our in-class curriculum and physical education program in the Grades. As a small school, dedicated parents make these trips possible by volunteering to drive students and assist on camping trips and adventures, sharing their skills and enthusiasm with the class community. This year, we will be taking children skiing in the Callaghan, to a beautiful Eurythmy and bell choir performance in Vancouver, as well as swimming, skating, and year-end trips no name a few. We are so appreciative of people taking this time from their busy lives to enrich the student experience!
To help manage the risk parents take in transporting other people’s children, we have recently purchased a special excess liability insurance policy. Vehicle owners would typically rely on their third party liability policy against any damages that may result from a collision, and would be responsible for any charges over their policy limit. The special excess policy protects individuals while operating their vehicles on behalf of the school and provides coverage over and above that carried on their individual ICBC policy. Volunteer drivers and trip assistants are required to have a criminal record check. Please make sure your CRC is up to date.
