SWS TUITION & FEE SCHEDULE

PART A: TUITION FEES for 2025/26

School Tuition is collected for the upcoming academic year and is program dependent. 

Tuition may be paid either as a full payment (with a 5% discount*) or in monthly payments. 

Monthly payments will be processed on the 2nd or 16th of each month beginning May 2, 2025.

*To qualify for the 5% discount, funds must be received in full no later than 3:00 pm on May 2, 2025. This discount does not apply to families receiving tuition assistance.

Kindergarten & Grades Tuition

**Monthly payments begin on May 2 and are processed each month until the remaining tuition balance has been paid

Continuing families: to qualify for the 5% discount, funds must be received in full no later than 3:00 pm on May 2, 2025. This discount does not apply to families receiving tuition assistance.

New families: to qualify for the 5% discount, funds must be received no later than 3:00 pm two weeks after the offer of enrolment (i.e. the payment agreement) has been sent out. This discount does not apply to families receiving tuition assistance. 

Preschool Tuition & CCFRI

Our preschool programs are licensed to participate in the province-wide fee reduction program. The BC Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) is an initiative to make childcare more affordable in BC. It is equivalent to a discount of $10 per day that the preschool child is enrolled.

The Annual Tuition amount below reflects the Annual Tuition after the CCFRI has been deducted.

Joyous Beginnings Parent & Child
Fall 2024 & Winter 2025 Sessions: $245-$280* | 7 or 8 week sessions

*2025/26 Joyous Beginnings program fees to be confirmed

Sibling Discount
SWS offers a discount to families who have more than one child enrolled in the school, at the rates outlined below.

1st Child: Full Fees
2nd Child: 15% Tuition Discount
3rd Child: 50% Tuition Discount
Subsequent Child(ren): 50% Tuition Discount

The sibling discount does not apply to international students. Nor does it apply to supply fees, activity fees, or instrument purchases.

PART B: OTHER FEES – (KINDERGARTEN & GRADES ONLY)

Building Fee
The Building Fee is per K-Grades family, one-time only, and non-refundable. The Fee is for the future capital projects such as buildings, land, furnishings, IT Infrastructure, and other capital expenses. These contributions are due and payable within two weeks after acceptance of the student.

Supply Fees
These fees cover all student supplies needed to support class curriculum for the full school year and are payable with tuition. It’s important to note that supply fees are non-refundable.

Activity Fees
These fees are based on class grade composition and reflect the cost of curriculum supported field trips, athletic outings, cultural and artistic experiences, and outdoor education opportunities throughout the academic year. Activity fees are non-refundable and payable with tuition at the rates listed below.

International – included in tuition

*Grade 5 fees DO NOT include fees and trip costs for the Grade 5 Waldorf Olympiad, which has an estimated cost of $300/student. Class-driven fundraising will be needed to help offset this expense. Should fundraising efforts not cover the complete cost of this event, additional fees will be collected from parents.

Musical Instruments
Expenses associated with the purchase of new instruments will be billed separately on an as-needed basis. Listed below are the instruments used at each grade level and their respective estimated cost.

Grade 1 – 2: Pentatonic flute  ~ $92
Grade 3 – 8: Recorders           ~ $30
Grade 4 – 8: Violins                 Varies

Parents will be contacted before new instruments are purchased for your child(ren). A used-instrument exchange and sale will be coordinated during the school year for families looking to sell or buy instruments. Details of these events will be shared as they occur via our usual communication methods (class emails, the Sprig, and printed notices). Representatives from Long & McQuade will come to the school to help fit children for rental violins.

SWS Society Membership: Families are welcome to join the Squamish Waldorf School Association, which is the legal body that governs the school. The cost is $10.
