Last fall, Mr. Bindseil’s 3/4 class started studying farming and learning where our food comes from. At C-Dar farm in Paradise Valley, they worked hard preparing their field for planting. They sowed the rye and then waited. One year later, they harvested, threshed and milled the rye, then baked it into dragon bread to be served at our Michaelmas festival in September. Thank you so much, Fritz and Ferdinand, for a wonderful learning experience for our children — a process that few get to see, let alone participate in from start to finish.
