Meeting change gracefully
The coming of spring is a beautiful reminder of the forces of renewal in the world around us, the ebb and flow, the inbreath and the outbreath. At times when situations are fluid, it is good to feel the breath of spring and remember that change, with all its discomfort, presents an opportunity for new growth.

At our school, we are experiencing a strong wave of change in our administration; this is a unique moment for the school to renew itself and reinvest in the values most important to us. Like caring for a newborn, such moments require time, love and dedication. Focusing on the core of what is important: namely our work in the classroom and our relationships with students, parents and fellow staff members, helps us gather the positive forces available to us in these times to leverage change in the service of our goals.

The school is more than the sum of its parts. Over the years, our values have been written into our practices, policies and culture, and these things will ensure continuity as we move through this transition. We have worked to refine the hows and whys of what we do, and parents play an important role in asking questions and providing feedback. Last year’s parent survey helped us fine tune many of our administrative processes and put in place systems that will serve our new administrative team well. Over the next few months, we hope you continue to give us feedback, and we will continue our communicating our progress.

I look forward to connecting with you in the coming months and working together to build a strong team for our next stage of growth.
